RLCC and Web 2.0 Classes
The RLCC will be revamping its class offerings beginning in January 2008. One of the classes that we will be offering is a "Library 2.0" class for staff and a "Web 2.0" class for public. So for the "Library 2.0" class, this will be our opportunity to push the current Web 2.0 services that we currently are working on and it is a means of educating the staff on what these services can do for the library in general. I am working on a handout, to be given out to to the staff and public. I probably will make the handout for the staff a little different than the one for the public. Anyway, I thought I would give a heads up on what is going on in the RLCC.

Great. Five Points did a "Connecting to the Social Web" class on October 4.
We had a great response. Patrons really seemed to enjoy it.
We looked @ Blogs, Wikis, Online Photo Sharing (Flickr), Video Sharing (YouTube), IM (meebo.com), and Mashups.
What are you planning to cover in each class?
Would you like the PPT I did for the class @ FP?
I am hoping we get the same response. We have a lot of beginners down here so I hope it doesn't overwhelm them. I plan on covering blogs, Flickr, YouTube, IM and possibly Wikis. Yes, I would like to see the PPT, if you don't mind. I am in the beginning stages of developing the handouts and the slideshow presentation so this would help me.
I think this is terrific. I am sure there are lots of folks like me who just don't have the time to sit down and figure it out. Thank you for doing it and for planning the classes! Can I register now?
No problem at all. I enjoy doing it. The "Library 2.0" classes will be held on Monday, January 28th from 9:30-11 and Tuesday, January 29th from 9:30-11. Just pick a date (or both).
