BPL Digital Collections: The Video

A BPL Digital Collections video is in editing and post production.

To preview it: click on the start button then chose run. In the run box type \\snap\Groups\Photographs\Then click on the file “ digital_Collections_003.wmv.”

Any suggestions before it goes public?

Richard, I think some old-fashioned music might serve the photos better. How about something like "Ashokan Farewell" from Ken Burns' Civil War series? And if you slow the music down the pages could be turned slower, sort of like someone's really looking at an old family album. Makes for a nostalgic piece.

And I was a little slow on the uptake about the connection between the collection and the burglar and had to have it explained to me. But not everyone's as slow as I am. ;)

Just my two cents. But I love the layout of video.

Thanks for watching and your insights.

I do not think you are slow on the uptake.

I think the video does need more work at the start to make sure that the burglar is set up better. The burglar angle needs to be more obvious for this to work.

Perhaps later we can create a more nostalgic video that shows images from the collection longer.

For the next one How about a "Where in Birmingham are we?" theme for that one and show pictures then ask the viewer to identify where it is. Maybe some game show music added?
