Roselle Public Library is using Ning as a social networking tool for their staff and public. It looks like a really cool idea. I created an account so I could get in and see what it is all about. If you want to use my name and password to take a look around it is my email address and test1234.

Looks impressive. A flexible one stop spot for our 2.0 stuff. It seems to allow more merging of social media than a blog yet is more focused than the giant social-networking sites.
All we need is time to customize our Ning and maintain it.
Overall, very interesting and useful provided we can convince our staff and patrons use it.
I like it!! I wouldn't mind customizing and updating it if we choose to do it.
I think it's neat. I love to socialize...online. Hee hee hee. I say let's give it a try.
Let’s set it up!
Then find something new and interesting to add to it so that we can entice people to try it.
What I link about Ning is that you can create groups. This might be useful for branches to set up a place where their patrons can meet and discuss issues etc. that are just about that location. I know some of the branches wanted to have their own web site but this could be a good alternative.
Let's discuss other things we would like to see Ning used for and we can get together a plan before taking the plunge.
